Ed Billingham Classical Guitarist

Biography

Ed began playing the guitar at around 10yrs old learning easy chords from his stepfather. He soon became fluent at chord playing and loved singing and playing chords!

In high school a new classical guitar teacher got him hooked on learning classical guitar. Ed thrived on this and soon made his first performances at school concerts and guitar societies.

After hearing his first recitals by leading players of the time like David Russell, Paul Galbraith and John Williams it confirmed his desire to become a soloist. Ed went on to study with Neil Smith in Liverpool and Carlos Bonell in London. Ed also went on to study performance at the RNCM with Roger Bigley, Craig Ogden at the RNCM where he gained his PGdipRNCM.

PERFORMING HIGHLIGHTS

Ed has performed widely to large and small audiences. Highlights include performing  Rodrigo’s Aranjuez Concerto at college in London as a 1st yr student. Recitals at the Del La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, Chapel Royal Brighton, RNCM Concert Hall,  Bolivar Hall London, Buxton Fringe Festival, Rye Festival , Stoller Hall Manchester and Chester Music Society to name a few.

Teaching

Ed has a vast amount of  teaching experience, working with students of all levels of interest. Whilst being a classical specialist he also teaches electric and contemporary guitar styles will excellent results in grades with distinctions and high merits. He can teach online or live.
